Came across this little conumdrum while putting things together.

The two hoses in the engine room can go either way so which one goes on top? The one that connects to the vessel?

Do you mean the outlets at the firewall?
It looks (on my engine at least) like the top hose goes down somewhere.
While the lower hose connects toward the right at the engine block

Many thanks, really appreciate the assistance.

Sorry that I disappeared, went offline for a bit. Not on my own accord, was connected over my mobile and something broke.... 3G prepay card, not always stable.

Also sorry if the question was not clear, will post a picture as well next time and try to explain better.

The pics did help but it looks like my set up is slightly different, both come from under the manifold. One ends at the firewall and the other goes on to the expansion vessel. That seems a little different from you guys? It does look a little homemade though. Not always a good thing.

Will post a pic tomorrow, 11PM here now so it is time for bed.

I went outside again to check.
There is one hose that comes from the manifold and connects to the expansion tank (vessel) ,

there is one hose from the manifold to the firewall.
and one hose from behind the engine block to the firewall.

FI Heater

Same arrangement. Slightly different than carbs.

There's a water distribution pipe vs. manifolds and hoses.

Find the pipe with the other hose since it appaears your running Motronic/ FI.:)

In theory, if one connection is lower ( supply to heater) and one higher ( return to water pump) it would tend to self bleed perhaps a bit better.
