which oil pump for update?

clarification

sorry....which oil pump can i use to update the original oil pump in my 74 coupe? is there a later model BMW (late 80's 535 for example) that i should look to as a donor? were there improvements made in the original design that would enable an easy swap out update? i'm also asking because a replacement for a 74 CS pump is around $500......was hoping a more current model would be a little cheaper.
 
When I put the 3.5L in my car from a 89 535i the oil pump was the same as the one on my 1970 2.8L engine. The one on my 2.8L was in better conditions so I used it.
 
thanks bonita. that's what i was looking for. seems the 89 oil pumps are around the same price though ($450), but it was worth a shot.
