Which type of BMW is this VIN from?

Hi all,

I got an offer to buy an engine, but I’m not able to find the type of car/engine. The guy who is offering says it’s from an e3/e9, but that does not seem to match. He is not familiar with BMW and sells it in name of a family member. Is this from an e12?

2302557 - Not from an e9. my guess is e3 or e12

its from a euro 2800 (e3) ... so its a 2.8L carb engine. won't be correct for a 3.0csi - smaller engine / wrong head
