My CS is a 1972

The right turn signal will click once with appropriate dash indicator - then stop Left blinker would indicate on dash most of time - but oddly not always.

When I opened up steering column to see switch , I noticed prior owner had stuck a rolled up piece of paper in the gap of the switch between black and metal sections. Strange.

I’ve read most of posts here on the subject, but have not seen info on who I could send this to for a refurbishing / rebuilding.

Guidance welcomed as my restoration has stalled until I get this switch working properly and consistently.

Update: Obtained different used turn signal stalk. Same result ! If I push on the base of turn signal stalk toward driver it works . Hard to believe same problem with two different stalks?

Not sure where to go from here .

This sounds more like a flasher going bad than the signal stalk. You might search on that topic. I believe that there was a way to use a more universal flasher that is readily available.

Very slight difference in wiring, but you can use a solid state flasher. I think mine came from NAPA and a friend wired it in for me. The solid state one was under $20 and an original BMW unit for my 635 was a bit over $200

HI @Jamison , if you want to stick with the original relay I have spare units to supply.
I will send you a PM

Thanks for your input
I should have mentioned that I have purchased NOS flasher yet the replacement did not resolve the problem

Possible explanation for the paper roll: - my high beams would come on whenever the turn signal cancelled. Worn internal spring contact or detent was being triggered by vibration. Did something similar during a trip.
Think was a common problem across models using that type switch.
