I'm about to tackle putting the Alum Window Drip back on to my car. And was wondering if there were any special technics that someone might share that can make it easier. It seems a bit tricky. Should I first put caulk or some type of sealant between the aluminum strips and the body before putting the Alum Drip on? It seems that this piece is somehow pressed/snapped onto so that it covers both the aluminum strip and the body. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It is a little tricky but I was able to install myself without any major issues.

The trick is to "clip" the roof edge of the drip rail first then twist down the A and C pillars at the same time. The drip rail will essentially snap into place.

The above sounds easy but it did take me more than a few tries and the aluminum is very fragile and delicate.

Good luck.

You can also test installing by using the ones the old ones you take off.

Thanks,

It is not that difficult- but I started at the base of the A pillar and rotated/clipped the trim on as I moved to the rear. I used a rubber mallet (very light touch!) to lock down the rear. The big trick is to get the trim to lock down on the steel rail by rotating/clipping as you go. Take care not to flex the trim too much as it will leave "cracks" in the finish.
