Window Motor Refresh

Hi All,

What type of grease/lubricant would you recommend for repacking the window motors (sardine cans) after a good cleaning? Appreciate your input and feedback on what has worked well for those of you who have done this. Thanks.

You might also check Amazon...they do carry it.

Also, will need some silicone sealant to seal back up the lid that you remove when you re-pack the gears.

Also, you should plan on replacing the rubber bumpers that limit window travel up and down. There are two per window. With age the compact and put pressure against the gears.

Those are available from W&N and possibly elsewhere.

It is worth taking out the rear track on the front windows as the grease in the rollers is likely hardened as well and replacement of the grease will help with smooth window travel.
