What is the most common cause for the window not completely closing? Is it a matter of a worn out part or simply straightening something /bent) back?

Thanks

which window, front, rear ?

which type of w. manual, electric ?

can you describe how it happens ? decribe the closing and the opening process please

maybe that way we will be able to guess...

the stops can be loosened with a 10mm wrench then shortened or lengthened to adjust how much the window closes and how much it opens.

In my case the passenger front window does not close because a part of the window regulator (window winder) is worn to the point where the gear on the motor no longer engages the regulator gear when the window is within the last few inches of its travel. The gears skip on each other bump-bump-bump and you have to "help" it close after that.

So, my sense is that your window regulator is about worn out. Some creative metalwork may restore it.

Thanks for replies, I will strip the door and see if the window winder is worn but today it seems to function as it should.
