We are just trial fitting my front windscreen before it gets painted ( the car that is) and I was just wondering what would be the best way to fit it…

Can the windscreen be fitted without the dash top in – or does the dash top need to be in first, as it looks a tight fit....

Also is it possible to put the chrome trim into the rubber seal first and then fit – or is it done after?

Also I have no Jack – does anyone have one for sale or a picture of what I need so I can go and look on the web?

Any help would be great

Regards

Marc

Dash first.
Trim into "rubber seal" then onto glass as a unit....both front and back

The dash can go in and out with the windscreen still in place. For both removal and installation, easiest is dash first, windscreen last.

Removal of dash with windscreen can be difficult IF the clips holding the top pad down are rusted. They often are.
If the clips are ok, then removing the dash isn't that difficult.

Erik, you are not the first to talk of dash removal/replacement with the windscreen in place. My fear is the front defrost vents, they are so brittle that removal or installation with the window in place would place them at risk for cracking. They were a PIA with the glass out, cannot imagine replacing them with the glass in.

I've got a jack for you, £ 100, could even deliver for you as we should be working in Preston in the next couple of weeks.
