Hi
I have just registered on this forum although I have been reading it for sometime now..What a great resource to keep E9's on the road ...Thanks.

I was reading a recent thread which is similar but was more about Turn Signals than Wipers. We know that they both share the same column switch.
My turn signals and hazard lights all work OK but I am not getting power to the wiper motor.

I am tracing the power supply with a test probe trying to find the fault.
I think there may be a dead -short somewhere as #6 fuse (wipers/washers) blows frequently.

I have a wiring diagram from Autobooks owners workshop manual

As an aside...I have pulled the wiper motor apart and cleaned the commutator / checked the carbon brushed /greased and reassembled...so that it will work better when I can get power.

I suspect the column switch is at fault as I cannot find any power output apart from the turn signals.
So 3 questions..please

What colour wire is the (column switch) output to the wipers? ( via a relay?)
It looks like Brown& Black and or Black on the diagram.

Where is the "Changeover Relay" ?....which is activated by the column switch.

The Diag. also shows a "load -shedding"relay...Where is that located?

I hope that cleaning all connections ...and the process of elimination will correct the fault.

Any help greatly appreciated..Thanks
Bob
