Windscreens from Walloth (delivery cost to UK)

Hi All,

I've just been quoted almost 300 Euros delivery to the UK for a new windscreen from Walloth and Nesch.

Is anyone in the UK considering purchasing one soon, and perhaps they would reduce the price to send two ?

A long shot I know.

Be careful- 300 for one, 600 for two. W&N told me their insurance wouldn't let them ship two together.
 
Ah ok. Many thanks, I'm awaiting their answer. At least I know now, I guess it's understandable to a certain degree.
 
It would be marginally cheaper if I collected it myself. If I were retired perhaps I'd consider it !
 
Thanks for the input all. Rek - from calling around various suppliers, I found one available in green, in Enfield at a reasonable cost. Not as cheap as Walloth, but no 300 euros delivery or Brexit tax. Green no use to me as all my glass is clear.

As TedS mentioned already, there's no saving by ordering two; it's simply double the delivery cost.

Pilkington can supply one in any colour combination, clear / green, blue band, green band etc. But it's a manufactured to order so takes 10 weeks or so.

All I would advise is decide sooner rather than later, don't leave it till the last minute like me, where your options end up limited. I've ordered mine from Walloth.

Thanks for the help. Is the colour of the tints green or blue. If they are all green then the Enfield one might be of use to me. Can you pass on the contact?
 
The US got green glass which looks clear unless you hold a piece of white paper behind it, it’s that subtle. They didn’t have green bands on the upper glass, don’t know where blue came from.
 
I guess Pilkington will just make to order whatever the customer wants, the blue band was one option they offered me. Yes the green tint is subtle, but It is a green tint. My glass is clear, the tint was an option I believe in the UK. I have some clear and green spares and side by side it’s a noticeable difference.
