This is where the front fender meets the a pillar. Crack in the paint is the end of the fender. Note the tiny gap in the gutter edge:

Is that only paint/bondo crack or also metal is breaking?

Definitely paint and filler. The original fenders are seam welded and leaded right there. I never removed the front fenders since they were shot. It’s possible that they weren’t seam welded there after a repair. Likely, it is just due to the fenders flexing. The whole front of the car had no integrity.
 
Just to get my bearings straight: is this the lay out and views of the cuts?

I've taken a random Google image, and placed your pics on the side. In the red square is what I believe you've chopped out, and I've placed the view from above, looking down from the top towards the fender. Some green lines to show how it lines up.

Bottom picture is the view into the A-pillar, looking up.

Did i get i right?
