Replacing both windshield and gasket. Should I go BMW or another supplier? Comments and reviews please. Steve
What's exactly a "green" windshield?
Is it just the top portion or the whole thing is?
is there a date on the windshield - look at the tempering mark. or the mark may indicate who made the glass. that would be great information to know ... since there was bad press about BMW windshields earlier in the year.I recently replaced my windshield. I used OEM BMW glass and re-used the original gasket. It was in good condition (soft, not cracked and brittle) and the glass guy said a new gasket, even OEM, probably wouldn't fit too well anymore. He does a boatload of windshields, a lot for customs around here and knows his stuff. He was right, my new windshield fits great, looks good too. See what your glass guy thinks about the condition of the gasket.
