Randy, the cost of a new windshield at the dealer with the BMWCCA discount is about $500 which I think is pretty reasonable. I had changed mines about a year ago due to a small stone hitting the windshield. The initial spider web crack developed an entire crack that ran from the top to bottom of the windshield in about an hour during a hot summer day. I think the green glass is the only one available now, probably most cars were outfitted with the green glass anyway. The cost of a good used windshield is about $150 to $200 and most likely you'll still have scatches and pittings caused by stone chips. Shipping charges will be horrendously expensive which will add another $100 or more and unless it's packaged real well, it'll bound to break during transit. Can't wait to see your finished car.
