Here is a dumb question, does my `73 have intermittent wipers? I only have a `74 owner's manual. When I turn them on they are intermittent but eventually stay on full time. Pulling the console switch up goes to fast, pulling again goes to slow (might have this backwards). Wondering if I need a new relay, thanks.

Should be intermittent with stalk switch on and console switch down. Up one is on, up two is fast (relatively of course, mine are kinda slow even on fast).

You only need a new relay if you drive in the rain which I know you don't.

I dunno but first you could try popping off the cover and 600 grit sand the contacts and clean it all up to see if it brings it back to life. If not there's one on eBay.

Thanks Steve. Guess I need a new relay, is the 74 relay different?

Thanks guys. As for you John, I drove all the way to Sonoma just to arrive for the storm of the decade so the wipers got a good workout, all the way until Bakersfield heading home!

I didn't think it rained in California, souther CA anyway. When I lived in Mission Viejo 25 + years ago, my son thought is rained every day at 6:00am and only on the grass and plants. Imagine his surprise when we visited back east and landed in a down pour!

"Daddy! the rain is crashing down on the houses and cars and everywhere" that was the day I learned he thought the sprinkler system was rain...

How did I forget that trip? I knew there was a reason I didn't go!
