Does anyone out there know where I could buy a set of satin, silver, wiper blade holders? I have the arms, I just need the blade/holders themselves. My current black blades look funky on the silver arms.

Ditto on Coupeking, bought a set myself from them a few years ago. The satin silver Bosch 15-7/8" blade/holder set must have been "lost" in the current site during their transition from the old Coupeking website to the new one. Pretty sure they are still available, you should contact them about their availability. Kind of pricey at about $125 for the set, but they are absolutely beautiful and a perfect match for the original satin wiper arms. The blade holders are not available by themselves.

change to satin?

My 72 CSA (2250036) has chrome wiper arms which I think are original. If I recall correctly, someone (factory? gummint?) determined that chrome situated so close to the field of vision could create glare, so cars of that era started changing to satin finishes and we all are much safer. I have somehow survived chrome hood and fender grills. As an aside, my 69 Camaro (orig owner) has satin wiper arms.

My question: anyone know when the change occurred on coupes?

I think the change occurred very early on, by 72 all were satin I believe. Even most 2800CS had satin. By 69 even the 2002 had satin arms.

My 72 euro came with chrome wiper arms (10/71 production). About 6 months ago I found some chrome / polished wiper blade holders that look awesome but when the sun is at the right angle you had better be wearing sunglasses.

Does anyone know if all of the '74 and later cars (even in Europe) originally came with the black wipers or was that a US only thing too? My '74 3.0 csi (11/73 build date, Italian delivery) had black wipers when I purchased the car over 21 years ago. I lost the black passenger side one and ended up buying the satin silver replacements back when they were still available from BMW. Thinking about going back to black if that is what is correct for that year of coupe.

i also have a set of the coupeking satin silver wiper blade holders. i'll semi-hijack this thread by asking if anyone has a source for the replacement rubber inserts that go in these?

Unless one needs the Bosch logo.

Trico-33-162 for $25/pair through Amazon or Napa.
