Wire bundle direction on fuse block

I am reassembling my mid'73 CS, and trying to figure out the correct routing of the wires around, and into the fuse block. When I took out the factory block, I recall most of the wires went down and through the mounting bracket, and maybe a few went out above the bracket where the block sits. Looking at my '74 coupe, most of the wires go straight back or up, few go down through the bracket.

So, from the factory, what was the correct routing? back/up, down through, or combination? Currently, I was able to make all come from below and come up through the bracket, but makes for a pretty dense bundle

I have pics, can upload tomorrow.
I think the cable from fuse block goes up, curves 180 degrees and down through the bracket.
I'm thinking that route woukd also be the easy way to install it: feed harness trough brackets up, bend forward, leave it dangling, introduce fuse block, insert wires piece by piecce, screw block into place.

Here are a couple of shots of the fuse block on my 1972. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures behind the block to show the routing of the wires.

Perfect, thanks for the info, and looks about like mine. Seems as though possibly a couple may have original come over the top, but I managed to get it all up through the bracket. On a side note, both the original factory fuse block and the Holly grail one can actually be pushed through the bracket at an angle with all the wires hooked up. Very helpful as there is not much slack ones in place
