Working on rebuilding my AC system.
Don't know why I was so careless but I took apart the resistor and relay wiring on the fender near the coil. I was working with the AC hoses.
Duh, I didn't make a diagram or take a picture. Thought I had.

I now have wires and don't know where they go. Took apart weeks ago.
I looked at the wiring diagram but can't seem to locate individual wires?

I have the + side of the coil that needs a wire?
One side of resistor in photo. Labeled A. Needs wire?
B&C are either side of relay. Both need wires. Brown wire is ground.
I have a wire from the AC Comp to hook up, wires from the aux fan. One of aux fan wires is ground.

Does this make sense?

I thought there was a wiring diagram someplace here on the forum but now I can't find it. If I see nobody's responded by this evening, I'll take a picture of mine and post it

Switched

green goes to the resistor. Black/ red goes to the coil.

Here's the rest for your a/c relay- http://www.e9-driven.com/Public/Library/BMW-E9-Manual/pages/en/64500200.html#refertoc

The euro wiring diagrams also have this accessory wiring diagram at the end of those sheets.

I would add that the relay gets it's ground from the body screws and there are two grounds on one of those screws. ( A common issue why your aux. fan doesn't work) I suggest you check the aux. fan /fuse holder next to the fan. The original is ceramic. develops resistance, etc. It's also a direct hot wire from the battery.

Thanks so much.
This confirms what I was thinking after sitting down and examining the wiring diagram with great care.
When I started hooking wires back up it made sense.
I don't have the aux fan in the car right now as I am still fitting hoses after installing a parallel condenser.
I knew one of those leads went to the relay and of course the brown goes to ground like you said at the resistor. Wasn't sure which side of relay 86 or 87?
I'll look at the fuse for the fan as well. Did not see that yet?
Thanks again.
Give the smoke test this evening.

With these relays, terminal 30 is always the power supply and 87 is always the power consumer. Terminals 85 and 86 are used as triggers to activate the relay and can be reversed, it doesn't matter which is the ground. Hope this helps.
