Wood veneer question

Does anyone know what kind of french walnut veneer is right for an E9? Is it quarter sawn? Any good suppliers out there that are worth using?

not quarter-sawn..

Definitely flat-cut, not quarter-sawn, TJ. If you want period-perfect, its one thing. If you'd take something with a little more character, I'll have some left over that you're welcome to for shipping cost. Very pretty, but a little more wave to the grain, and some cross-fire/curly. I did my wood with a nice walnut veneer from MacBeath Hardwoods in SF and Berkeley. They have an immense selection.
