Just wondering if 1) anybody knows anything about this steering wheel that was sold on eBay recently and 2) anybody here pick it up?

I've never seen a wooden Alpina steering wheel before. Appears to be made in 12/67 (most likely by Nardi). Does anyone know if Alpina actually sold this or did someone just stamp "Alpina" on an old steering wheel?

Wow I wish I had seen that, it would be on my car right now

Could be Nardi, although it has the Momo bolt pattern which early ones did.

I have a similar one by Nardi with that pattern but not Alpina, and fitting a horn button was challenging.

I can't see the photo or open the link because of the network I am on, but I have a wooden Alpina wheel as well. My thought was that at some point a previous owner removed the leather because it was deteriorating and that the wheel was wood underneath. At some point I will wrap the steering wheel in leather.

Alpina Wheel

From what I understand my wood Alpina wheel is the 12th to 15th Alpina wheel produced. I saw a little later but similar wheel sell for 2650 euros on ebay about 3-4 years ago

Stevehose, if I remember correctly your wheel is just like this one without the "Alpina" stamped on it. Or any marking on the front, correct?
bmwmadman, that's pretty unique looking - any photos of it in your car?
WALTER, if you could post a photo I'd appreciate it!
hplug, that's a cool wheel. Flat? That one (the Daytona) was made by MOMO.
[As some of the NorEast coupe guys know, I like steering wheels.]

I should have been more clear about the original post: The one shown in the ebay auction looks like a product of Nardi/Personal. I was not aware of Alpina wheels being made by them - which brought up the possibility in my mind that someone just stamped an unmarked wheel for fun and profit. Does anyone have info on this?

Here is a wheel that is a slightly newer than hplug's. Its basically a flat 380mm MOMO Prototipo with Alpina engraved on it.
