Wow!!! Original 1974 3.0CS/CSi/CSL sales brochure

Just found this original BMW sales brochure site from Japan. It is amazing that I've never seen this site up until today. Have never seen a complete E9 (1974) or for that matter, any other coupe sales brochure from any year. It provides for many interesting facts, specs and pictures of our beloved coupes.

BMW's from the 1500 to 850i are covered. Various other vintage European cars are also in the site, including classic models from MB. Most brochures are eiher in English, German, or Japanese with beautiful, clear pictures. Scroll down to the BMW section.

For finger tip access to the site, I would suggest sending the site to your computer's desktop. Format is best viewed at 50%, zoom in 100% for much bigger and detailed pictures and text.

Wow!!! +1

Really a nice site!

A lot of memories coming back from my youth looking at brochures from WW Scirocco, Golf together with other BMW's and Volvo's I used to have back then :)

Thank you bert35csi for digging deep in the soil named internet!

Speaking of VW Sciroccos, nice pic of the factory fitted Petri steering wheel pulled from this site. Wheel looks to be a 380mm unit.

Yes, the same Scirooco I had (yellow TS-75) :)

Is this a real Petri wheel? I remember it was not a leather wheel.

I've checked with the Swedish car registry and my old car is still alive!! Probably a backyard sleeper.

If you guys say it's a real Petri, I could at least contact the present owner and ask about the condition of the wheel?

Cool site. The brochures come up for sale from time to time on eBay, I recently bought one from 1972. I remember reading somewhere that the Scirocco wheel is indeed a Petri.

hi bert
thanks
really nice site
but, did i miss anything ?, i can not find the e9 !!!!

regards

The E9 is there, just keep looking. That is a treasure trove of great photos thanks for posting Bert. . I noticed on the E3 brochure that the calipers were originally Gold/Cad plated. were ours like this?

Seeing this ad for the first time, many years ago, gave me pause regarding the identification of two gauges. I have the same reaction now.

Maybe its just lost in translation, but at the risk of sounding hypercritical, the speedometer seems misidentified as a "tachometer with integral trip recorder."

Curiously, the same page refers to the speedometer dial and the "rev. counter dial."

Same as the E9 calipers. There is no refuting what the original color finish was in now. Nice to to know the original color before I do my caliper restoration project.

Nice pictures. Love the Equipment section where it says "Rust Protection".
Marketeers will be marketeers...

Still waiting for Yannick to find something wrong with the CSL pictures.

The ad depicts a small indicator light between the speedometer and tach. However, it neglects to identify the indicator's function. Some models apparently have it, mine and others with which I am familiar, don't. Per deQuincey's photos, it clearly is wired to illuminate. What does it signal and on what models did it appear?

TIA
