I am interested in an a.c. face plate already hacked with large opening for din 1 radio. Condition not important as long as intact with the larger opening. I can refinish the surface and fill in any holes even if plate is only partially been modified. I do not want to ruin my original AC face plate.

Markos, in his thread for 3D printing face plates shows one hacked with the large rectangular opening. I responded to that thread wondering if that plate is for sale.

Pm me anyone with available din 1 plate at fair price.

Thanks jjs2800cs

Sorry for the slow response. I’m not on the forum much. :D

The one in my pics is a loaner that is not for sale. Damaged ones like you describe go for about $200. I can print a replica with a modeled DIN opening for $220. Check with @Koopman. He may still have one.

So this is from an E3? BTW, I was curious and looking through all 21 pages of your thread, I couldn't find where you did the E3->E9 AC faceplate conversion.

I can post a side by side comparison tonight. They are pretty different IMO.

THE BASE IS MADE OF ALUMINUM AND THE GRILLES ARE FROM THE E3 CUT AND SET ON THE BACK
NOTICE THE NUMBER OF SLATS THERE ARE 5 NOT 6
AND THE ANGLE ARE DIFF
plus it covers the blower more
not yelling
also notice the bent side
at the radio
instead of a clip it a bend in the part all the way up to set screws in
then i bought helvetica 12 pt font in letraset - they are the exact font used
and pressed them on then sprayed w/ clearcoat so they would not come off
painted the arrows by hand
and used an "I" for the other side and slashes
