WTB - Badges for 74 2.5 CS

Hello all!

I am the caretaker of a 1974 2.5 CS here in Southern California. The boot currently has very rough badges from a 3.0 CS and I wanted to correct them with something in decent shape. I know it is going to be difficult to find the correct badges, but I was hoping someone might have some sitting on a shelf somewhere.... or perhaps... is anyone 3D printing badges yet?

These badges are very difficult to come by, and would be very expensive to 3D print in aluminum or CNC machine. I think you have a few decent options.

If the trunk doesn't have any holes in it, you could make a vinyl sticker similar to that of the 3.0 CSL. It would look nice, somewhat correct and wouldn't cost much.

You could also piece together a badge that would look "kind of correct". The style has changed over the years and the edges got a bit sharper. The period is a circle instead of a rounded square. You could sand it down to match a bit better. I also don't know how well the newer 2.5i badge matches the e24 CS badge in height. Either way, it's probably your cheapest option that looks "decent". Otherwise, I'd just stick with a "3.0 CS" badge

Here is an example of what a polished nickel badge would run. Not bad actually - $56. You need to factor in the cost to model the part also. Professional 3D scanning isn't really going to save you any money either. If you are serious about having one made let me know. I have a modeler that has done a good job in the past.

Do a search for a member here in Germany named Ingo. His avatar name is Arnie. He will make one up for you at a reasonable price that will look perfectly OE.
