Hi,

I'm in need of this part but search results display two different types, can anyone please confirm which one is correct, and would anyone have one to sell please?

Thanks, so it's definitely the black one with the white inner, not the copper-colored type that WN have on their website?

uhm, i think they are actually both the same, the yellow one was white when it was made. It's made of a Polyurethane compound, and that yellows over time a bit. Also the actual production color varies a bit from time to time.

In your second picture, the FEBI part actually shows an assembly: The white part is actually inside a metal sleeve that compressed the yellow/white PU bushing.

I bought the PU bushing and the metal sleeve at the dealer 3 years back - perhaps check if they still have it first?

They are not the same, and they are the actual colours. The top one is a coarse spline, the white lower is fine spine. E9, e12 etc are coarse, later e28, e24 etc are fine spline. If one orders the coarse type from BMW and aftermarket sellers (Autodoc etc here in the UK) then the fine spline white item is sent. I have maybe half a dozen of the fine spine white ones here from a number of suppliers. Cannot for the life of me get hold of one the orange coarse spline ones. I've tried for the last year. My new one from my spare refurbed prop was put into a friends car assuming they were still available....
Have recently sent all the details to my local BMW dealer to look into it again. But, in short, I am told the white part is the replacement for which it will not fit.

Gist of what I've recently sent to BMW with similar photos above;

26111207480. The e12, early e24 and early e23 use this orange bush which is coarse spline (16 tooth).

The later models; late e24, late e23, e28 etc use a fine spline (27 tooth) whitish bush (part number 26111209497)

This whitish bush 26111209497 can also be purchased with the metal outer part (threaded ring) under part number 26117514037.

If 26111207480 (the coarse spline one) is ordered BMW, third party suppliers etc etc then a fine spline bush is sent - we have ended up with quite a few of them, with and without the metal outer part.

Is there anyone at BMW Germany that can throw some light/availability etc on this, especially since the fine spline one is most definitely not a suitable replacement for the coarse one, it simply wont fit.

Well spotted @frogisland! Fine and Coarse spline; it's even recognisable on the pics in the first post!

this lead me to lookup my rebuild pics, and indeed there it's same thing. My original is a black coarse spline part, and the white part (# 26 11 7514 037) bought at teh BMW dealer is the inccorrect fine spline part. In my subsequent pics i can see that i actually reused the original black rubber part.

the required spline type is definitly (on my dirve shaft) the coarse type:
