Turns out that just like the E9 door brake mess, BMW has also screwed up the E3 door brake situation, at least for the Si. The new door brake interferes with the window frame supports and it's the spring which does so, so there's no way to trim anything off to make it fit.
Does anyone have one in good working condition? According to the parts books, the two front ones are the same PN but different from the rears.
