A work for people who like it difficult. Matching colours is the easier part. Last time we gave up and painted both grilles with zinc primer which is slightly too dark. The critic section shall have fun with the car, too. But on close inspection of original grey grilles you'll find that the visible parts of the vertical slats are painted flat black. Thus they won't be noticed when looking from the front. To get the exact looks a lot of time, patience and covering tape is needed. If I remember correctly, 22 very small sections per grille must be taped. Please don't ask why we used the wrong grey but spent hours to keep the black.just paint the black one

@Keshav weren't the original grilles of the e9 black? i have a 71 2800cs and mine are black. okay, i am not the original owner, and my car was repainted ... but the grilles look original (not refinished) and are an oxidized black.
Oh ok, E9 were black, maybe some very early 2800 cs had grey as did the early e3? Since they are interchangeable……sorry - the above discussioni was talking about the front grilles. understand about the matte silver fender (with chrome visible edges) / hood grilles vs the black ones.
I do have what you want and it is in good condition but I dont know the price if you need please let me know and tell me how much you want to pay or if you have any E9 switch or signal relay and signal switch or AC switch on the wheel I like to exchangeLooking for a set of early e3 grilles to fit to my new to me s1 2500.
