I need the forward section of the headliner from a manual sunroof car. Mine has damage and some shrinkage as seen in the attached images. I checked with Carl Nelson and he said all of his would need to be recovered. I checked with Just Dashes and they said they don't do that type of repair. Please PM if you have a good one to sell. I'm located in WA state, 98074. Thanks in advance

Bill,

is the panel broken in any place, or is the covering just dirty, cracked or shrunk? if its just the covering, can you recover it by getting some of the material from CN?

The damage is minimal and Carl did recommend recovering with the headliner material he provided. However, it would need to be done by someone who is good with this process, i.e. vacuum bagging. Since Just Dashes won't take it on I thought a good used one might be the best and quickest option.

Repair possible?

H,
If you want to try to repair the damage I can suggest peeling back the vinyl as far as needed, than nusing a blow dryer at the hottest selection on the switch, heat the vinyl and as it gets hot pull the vinyl towards the dirrection that it has pulled away. Get some 3-M adhesive and spry it on the hard backing until it gets tacky and press on the vinyl until it adheres to the board under the vinyl. I am sure it will work. Use some strong kitchen cleaner to clean the vinyl that is soiled.
Good Luck.

I considered attempting what you describe but the molded foam substrate itself is shrunk as well. Based on the lack of rust and the amount of sand that came out when I cleaned the front fender shelves, I think this car might have spent much of its life in the desert, perhaps causing the shrinkage to the degree evident.
