Does one exist for the e9? One of the models that somehow bolt up to the oil filter. I've searched a bunch but can't find anything. I'd assume somebody made one for the racing cars.

Don't know about the e9 but my 1979 euro e24 has an oil cooler setup on it. I don't have the car here right now to verify the details but i believe the lines run to a couple of connections at the oil filter housing (which is of the e9 style top bolt variety- modified with a spin-on adaptor in the case of my car). Don't know if this was a standard factory option or something added by a previous enthusiast owner.

Use E24 or E28 setup, complete, it fits right nice in the valance and you can still source all the bits readily.
f.w.i.w. some of the filter housing heads had thermostats in them and almost always have another bung or two for gage sensors (handy!)
Pretty common item- call double o2 salvage.
All the e23 turbos had them too.
