I am going to repaint my trunk roundel and while undertaking this would like to put an original raised-edge painted type one back on the front (a plastic one is on there now) - does anyone have one for sale in need of restoraton or in so-so condition color-wise? TIA

Could you share how you go about this? I have a rear one in need of paint

Thanks

That's a fairly simple project.
-strip off the old paint.
-tape off the roundel leaving the triangles for the white propeller part.
-spray the white propeller parts with the matched white paint.
-take the tape off .let it dry.
-tape the roundel, leaving the areas free for the blue parts of the propeller.
-spray paint the blue propeller area with the matched blue paint.
-take the tape off... let the paint dry.
-tape the center area (propeller)
-spray paint the remaining roundel with the matched black paint.
-take the tape off... let it dry.
-polish off excess paint on the raised letters and lines.
enjoy your new roundel

I would even do it for you :) for a small contribution

According to the 2002 forum, Testor's model paint blue #1111 is a good match. I am planning on using satin black unless others can advise if it is semi or flat. I'll document my attempts at this.

I am pretty sure it's a satin black. that's what i would use, as well.
But make sure to spray paint them. i have one roundel where someone tried it with a brush, before they sold it to me :(

what might be an issue, is the raised lettering.
If you try to polish your roundel the shiny
silver layer will come off .
