I'm looking for a particular m30 valve/rocker cover, its the one with the filler at the front as per photo.

If anyone can tell me what car this is from that would also be appreciated.

Thanks
JP

Ian - how can you not have doubled up on anything? I mean, I admit it was a little crazy to run down to Richmond when Maxfish gave away his leftovers after he sold his body, engine and interior, but don't you ever buy a part that is better than the one on your car and have the other part hanging around for a while until you can sell it?

Don't you throw away all the parts you pull off your car? I only toss wear items and/or stuff that is really rusty. Anything that can be rebuilt I keep.

Damn you must be organized.

Well ok, that's not strictly true as I've bought a slew of new parts yet to be installed on my car since the restoration has not yet begun, but they are things like brake lines, shoes and calipers, shocks etc. Things that need to be replaced or upgraded like adding AC. But for durable parts like valve covers or steering wheels, I have only the one.
Years ago I was heavily into air cooled VWs and I had a lot of everything. I built a couple from parts. There is a significant cost to storing parts from a number of cars and I'm not wanting to tread the same path with the E9. My wife is very accommodating and supportive but our house is small and car parts are forbidden in the kitchen. So I'm trying to get only what I need and no more. A fine line.

Many thanks - now sorted via David.

Many 'extras' of the other type, but none of these, and dare i say it, it's going on an e12!

I find the dishwasher very useful also, although it does have it's limitation with some larger items. Low temperature on the oven was great for drying out washed out headlamp units.

You guys are hard-core, I live alone and I wouldn't use my dishwasher or oven for car parts... but I might try microwaving them?

Steve, that's a ridiculous question- obviously I use the dishwasher to wash the cat and the oven to dry it-
