It is a plastic box installed under the driver side seat, inside it is the printed circuit board with the relays for the seat motors and the memory control. See pictures.
I checked that the motors and the switches work, the module should always close two out of seven relays any time you press a switch. One for direction and one for the specific motor to use. For some of my switches it works fine, for others it either closes just one relay (the motor relay), and for others it closes three relays (two motors). The only explanation for such behavior is that some diodes have failed.
It would be great to just swap with a known good module.
Third picture is the new interior, looks great with new leather in the original color. Now off to paint.
