Looking to purchase some original E3 or E9 electrical components:
- about 5 of the transparent rectangular connectors (or a multi-connector: I can split them)
- 10 of the clear insulation covers for female spade. There are different sizes in our harness, but anything will work
- an earth point: the crimped 'eye', the brass ones at the end of a brown wire where they screw to the body. Looking for a small one for single brown wire, so a large will work as well.
- brown wire with blue line, 1 meter, normal ~1mm thickness
- Grey wire , 50 cm. Normal ~1mm thickness.
- protective tubing around various wires; Tubing with an outer diameter of 10 mm (runs e.g. to wiper motor, to battery and alternator), 8 mm (last bit to alternator, last bit to wiper motor), 5 mm (back and forth through firewall on thicker red wire and to window washer fluid pump) and 4 mm (runs to handbrake, license plate, and relay next to fusebox) is used in our cars. I am looking for 20 cm of 10 mm tubing, and 70 cm of 4 mm tubing

Anyone that has a dead e3 or e9 harness they are willing to sell completely, or harvest these parts from?

Indeed the Walloth link would provide me with a correct, and NOS double "HKS" branded connector, but quite expensive at 20 euro (+15 for shipment).

The connectors from the VW link are different to the ones used in our cars: I'd prefer the original ones.

I'm pretty sure you can buy them in EU... I was not digging much to find as above so it's worth looking.

Let us know if you will find them.

Used ones will be coming from similar era, so they will also be brittle and yellowish.

Well i did find the original supplier of these connectors, they are German company HSU-KG and are still in business.
I've send them an email about a week ago, but no answer from them yet.
The harness parts on my car are still in good shape (flexible), I hope part from a donor harness will be just as good.
I can actually prefer used and correct parts over new, and incorrect parts.

and i did find complete engine harness on ebay, but at 260 euro's that is a bit expensive + a waste of an otherwise perfectly good ( or repairable) harness.

These were very popular in all German cars these days. I would look in old wiring from MB, VW, Opel and BMW of course.

Some can be bought locally for copper weight they represent. I'm sure there are some close by Your location.

Hello Erik,

https://www.rdae.nl/ has a lot of this mostly standard connectors.

Indeed a very interesting company. I've just ordered from them a bunch of stuff to correct some aspects on my harnesses on Sunday, and he already shipped it out on monday. Should arrive today.

The connector "2452" is very close to our originals indeed. Dimensionally very comparable at 7mm thick*50 mm long; ours ("HSU") are 8mm thick by 47mm long. Unfortunately I did not find this one on his site; he has soo much I didn't spot it. So just placed a second order.
I will post some comparative pics once i get them.

The 30-440 connector is only for 2.8 mm wide connectors: ours are 6.3 mm. It also short in comparison to ours: it's just 20 mm instead of ours at mm. the 2452 is a better fit.

Still looking for original HSU ones if someone has spares / left overs.

Gr Hans

Chris - were you able to register? I tried but was unable to do so.
I live in the Netherlands and checked the site. Because it is too busy, he closed his site until Sunday.
It happened earlier I have noticed.

you can try again next week

You can also order without registering, as guest. At least I did. Eventhough his site says he was very busy, I got 2 orders at home last week, each within 72 hours after ordering.

Also the headlamp connectors on this site are a very close match, just dont have the HELLA brand on them, and tiny differences in shape.
