Correct for carb cars; Drew wanted one as seen on CSi in his picture.
The #6 support is not listed for CS, only for CSi.
He should be posting on his successful hunt (including elephant trophy) and we expect to see pictures.

I thought that battery cable piece mounts to the power steering reservoir clamp bolt? Those of us with sidedrafts don't have the Zenith manifolds to mount the matching dipstick bracket so we use this version.

And do you need the bracket and special grommet that holds the + battery cable in place?

Thanks, Rick
Rick--The support I got from Carlos does not need the battery cable grommet since my battery is in the trunk. And Steve said our sidedrafts don't have a place to attach the suppport.

@2000CS -Carlos- was a big help in locating the support bracket and collar I need to fix my dipstick tube. His 50+ year stash of BMW parts yielded the parts in the pic below. Thanks!!

I had the support and collar satin chrome plated. The local plating shop doesn't do yellow zinc plating. The parts fit after a little adjustment. The dipstick tube is now secured. The tube was loose and weeping oil. The restoration shop used a center punch to add a little friction to the fit into the block, and that didn't work. Loctite red was used to secure the tube into the block and it looks like the weeping has stopped. Note--Korman paints their engine blocks either satin black or Ford Blue. I thought the blue looked better with Turkis.

Who did the chrome plating for you?

Steve--www.EMFPLATING.COM 954-446-4143 They are in Davie, about 20 min. from my place. They chrome-plated my rear bumper and license panel. They satin chrome plated several engine parts also. They also do anodizing.

thanks Drew for the recommendation - i have added EMF to the FAQ - best sources.

if anybody has any other favorite / recommended chrome sources, would like to hear about them so that i can add them to the Best Sources list. good chrome shops are getting hard to find

Love the headline on the paper behind the tube, "Damage from Debby "very manageable" for insurers." Appropriate for us here in Florida.
