Need a spare wood center speaker grille for my gauge project, anyone have one for sale? TIA.

Steve,

what kind of condition are you looking for? which color, light or dark? w/ speaker cloth or no?

Preferably medium dark with cloth in as good a condition as possible, but that's probably a tall order so I would refinish if necessary, thanks. Here's the general color:

so tell us what you are going to do for the gauge project, are you going to change the speaker panel or afraid of damage to it?

i think i have one or two - just unsure of the traumas.

I am installing a three gauge panel (volts, oil pressure, and AFR gauge) but want to be able to cover it to look stock if I feel like it. I want to keep mine as is and procure a second because I need to remove the wood ring behind the front slotted piece and fabric in order for it to fit flush back onto the dash into the 4 holes with re-engineered attachment plugs. So I am not going to cut gauge holes in it, just bring it down to one flat layer.

unfortunately, one has a crack on 2 slats ... one doesn't have the backing plate and it is warped. the one on my car has bad cloth. so if you take the backing plate off (to keep it thin), be careful to keep it from warping

sorry

No prob, thanks!

Thinking about doing something similar. How is the speaker panel mounted? Do you have to remove the dash to get it loose? Or can it be removed from the front?

The speaker is held in by 4 metal pronged tubes that press fit into holes in the dash. Mine comes out quite easliy, try slipping a credit card under the sides and vey gently pry each side up a mm at a time and see if it gives or resists. If it isn't glued by a PO it should come out. Will post pics of rear of grille this evening if you need.

Forgot I had this on my phone, barrel shaped attachments for speaker, note the prongs that stick out to grab the wood as it goes in:
