You appear to be missing the oval chrome isolator also from further down the arm.
Double o2 has the chrome plastic piece but not the rubber one.

in my case it is not a chrome piece, but a blue plastic, and i do not have the other one down the arm

Which piece further down the arm? The chrome oval spacer is there, no base piece under that against door panel. Never seen one on an e9 but available on some e3 models.

I would try some red Sem paint on the rubber piece.
Thats what I did. Had a blue one and colored it red.
The one small piece that the car was missing and it drove me nuts for years!
