Hi All, I don't know if anyone out there would have a decent "under steering column plastic piece" for a 74 coupe with an adjustable steering column. If so I would be most interested, not sure how mine got so trashed-probably from guys like me pulling it off and on too often.

TIA-

Can you send me a picture? I have most of an adjustable column. It came with a complete set of locks which I needed.

this is the piece- thanks

Peter. It looks like I have the top half but am missing the bottom cover. I do have the column if you need any of that. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1389746401.679277.jpg

I also have the bottom cover of a non-tilting column but I don't think that helps you.

I have more parts back at the mechanics so I will add the bottom cover to the list of missing items.

Thank you all, much appreciated- just let me know if one pops up. My list is getting smaller and smaller thank goodness, once I find that bottom piece I think the only thing I'm missing is/are the sun visors. Fo some reason they were the only things missing when I bought the car.

Again, much appreciated!

Peter,

the spare one that i have has been cracked and repaired. it also looks like it came from an e12 or e24 as the shape is a little narrower and just a little different. sorry, i don't think it will help you. you might check with coupeguy - i'll bet he has both or talk to tom whaley whalem6 - he has one on his website - no idea if he really still has it or not. and just your luck, he has sunvisors in the next picture

Thanks everyone, whenever I have a strange part like this I always like to try here first and support our group. I was able to locate one (under column piece) at a very reasonable price so I think I'll move forward with that. I did go to the site suggested but I have difficulty spending that much on visors- not that they are not worth it, but my car is not en route to Pebble Beach so I'll just put those on my "shortening list" and hope I come across a set that will do. All your offers are truly appreciated and I thank you very much.

Peter

I bought the visors from coupe king and the stitch work was excellent. The color was a little off from my new headliner but my trim guy dyed them to match perfectly

peter, i had or still have a similar problem. i checked the parts book and the e23 (733i and 735i, first gen) had a similar part which fits but there is a slot cut into the right side where the cruise control stalk sticks thru. other than that, the part fits. if you can forgo that slot, it works fine.

I have set of decent used visors. I can email you pix. The mounts have some cracks. I think the guy in wisconsin still may have some of his crack-proof metal repro mounting portions available.

40 bucks for the pair plus actual shipping.

PM me if interested

Scott
