I bought a 265/6 with the intention of doing the 5-speed swap into my 230SL. I had bought this one after having sold a 265/5 on here and realizing that the /5 has slightly different exterior dimensions and wouldn't work in my car (easily). It sat around until I decided to repower the SL with a 4.3 M113 engine from a CLK (can follow along here) and a 5-speed automatic, so the whole driveline and engine bay I had is now up for grabs.
The transmission has been resealed by the prior owner. He kept it as a spare for his E30. However! When I opened the plug, I saw traces of very fine glitter, so caveat emptor. No shavings or chunks that I could see, but definitely a shimmer. Note in this photo the spacer plate needed for the W113 is on the transmission and that is also a Mercedes bellhousing and isn't included unless you happen to own a W113 (or I think also W111 but don't quote me on that) and want the swap kit, too.
I see prices all over for these. Looks like most recent sale was for 1600 + delivery on eBay in January. How's $1200? Can work with you on shipping. Transmission is currently at European Starr's shop in Sarasota. You're welcome to pick it up from there or if you give me some time I can pick it up (I'm 3 hours from there in Vero Beach) and ship it to you. If you have a Pagoda and want the swap kit (plus the clutch replacement kit pictured) I'll do $900. Note that you'll need to supply your own modified driveshaft if you want to do that. Unless you're in Europe or something, we can split shipping.
