In the wake of Sharkfest, I was feeling that my car project is progressing too slowly. So, yesterday, I installed new motor mounts, surmounting a silly little problem in the process (http://www.e9coupe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19062), added another ground across one of the motor mounts, drained my oil, changed my rear main seal, installed a new flywheel, installed a pilot bearing, and installed a clutch. I also started on the process of removing the automatic indicator lights from the top of the steering column.

Oh, and I think Bavman may have found a part I've been longing for.

The Car Gods were pleased, and I slept well.
 
I love those days. I had one of those last Sunday. Beautiful day, so I took the Coupe to the coast for a mixed car and air show. Traffic was awful, and tons of classics were bailing out of line since they were overheating. Coupe ran cool, and after the show, I ripped up the coast, played with a Porsche 930 for a little through some turns and up a straight, and went and grabbed a few beers with friends.

Great day to be a Coupe owner. I love when it all comes together.
 
I am planning on this type of day for Sat. A little maintenance then drive the heck out of it. Expected perfect weather.
 
I watched three episodes of Breaking Bad, I guess I am useless.
On the other hand I recall removing the automatic indicator in 10 minutes or less, but I was younger then.

I tend to work as if I am getting paid by the hour, rather than by the job. Its one of the things I like about working on my cars.
 
A few weekends back the wife and I decided to take the coupe to dry creek to pick up some wine club deliveries and make a weekend of it. It's been somewhat neglected as I've been playing with my new toy a 69 Alfa GTV. The weather was going to perfect only there was one possible problem, we seem to have accumulated 38 bottles at a winery. Crap would it fit in the trunk? Well some late night tetrising of various wine boxes we concluded we'd make it work. I'm glad we did.

It's the first long trip I've been on in the car for a while and it's very easy to forget how amazing of a car the CS is. I used to think it was a bit noisy but after spending a fair number of miles in the GTV the coupe is downright quiet, and smooth and silky. I freaking love this car. The GTV is a great car but it's very different from the coupe despite having similar styling cues.

Very nice, just watch the wine bottles, I left one upright and it blew a hole in my tool box lid!
 
Gorgeous Coupe!

Some of my favorite winery's are up in Alexander Valley/Dry Creek. Still need to make a run through there with my Dad in my Coupe. It's about time I replenish my Armida and Seghesio supply.
 
I met Kurt a few years ago. His spectacular coupe was one of the first to inspire me toward restoration efforts, compounded by HB Chris! :-P

I think we all motivate each other to bring the car to the next level. Many years ago I remember seeing TJ do the dash wood on his first CS and it gave me the confidence to jump in and try it on my car.

Looking forward to seeing your car in person one day
