Just bought a 73 E9 with Weber DGAVs on it. Secondary shafts are stuck on both. Took one apart and no amount of cleaning helps. Seems that something is warped. Thinking that putting stock carbs back on might be an easier fix. I know a lot of people toss these in favor of FI. Anyone have a pair they'd like to get rid of?

Thanks.

I know of a pair and he wanted to get them out of his garage. Pm me and give you his number. Tim

Stuck

means rusted. Not unknown for any carb.

Try tapping both sides of the shaft at once with a wood dowel, etc.

On the theory that what goes up must come down, dissassemble and tap the shaft back out (gently). Clean the shaft with sandpaper, etc. and reassemble. That's what a carb shop would do. Did this to a zenith in the past and it works.

Thank ethanol and the demise of lead used as lubrication.

Might get lucky with Kroil- penetrating liguid. Cleaners won't do it. maybe some heat.

My apologies for posting this respoonse in the wrong category.
