I am looking for the following parts for use in a CS to CSi conversion:

1. Old style D-jet air filter housing (top and bottom).
2. The bracket for holding the airbox housing. Anyone have a CSi parts car where this could be cut out off the fender side wall?
3. Throttle body from a later 6 cylinder BMW, but not too late. I believe they are in the 1976-78 era e12. It's hard to tell from the part catalogs since they often show both types. The type I am looking for should have the pair of linear springs on top and not the radial springs around the shafts with the more complex mechanisms. See attached photo of mine (it has a '76 stamp on the housing). Alternatively, if anyone knows what model BMW had these please let me know.
4. NOS CSi coolant pipe (the long that runs under the intake manifold)

PM me if anyone has any of these items that wish to part with.
Thank you,

Thanks. Yes, I understand. Do you know any of the specifics for years and models of the early L-jet? Or is this unit essentially on all injected e12's (74-78)?

This is for a megasquirt set up where I think this simple TB works best.

Hard to find those- I'll keep an eye out for you......

Btw- the 750i starter is a good fit under the vintage c-tubes, you should try it.

wasn't the '79 e12 (528i) an L-jet injection? ... not sure about the 78 - 530i.

Got in this morning from Utah, courtesy of C. Rich.

All big-six E12 had L-jet. There was a swap in the end of the 70ies to the throttle body with the round spring on the axis instead of the two parallel ones. I assume both would do for an MS conv though. :-)

Cheers

Does this do you any good?

Andy,

I just confirmed that this TB is too early. The idle air is handled by a slide valve under the manifold with its own external filter/source. It then taps into the cold start valve location. It is possible I could make it work. Let me see what else comes up. Thanks.

I checked for you- no double parallel spring versions
on the shelf

Sorry for getting your hopes up, I won't bother posting pics ... it's a 73 casting with the very large TPS housing on the left side of the TB.

I know it's been a while, but do you still need a throttle body? I have the one you're looking for if so. Let me know.

I have an 81 euro, E12 based, 635. It is factory Motronic and is original. I have verified this with Andreas at Mobil Traditions as factory original. In addition my car has an M90 and many guys have told me the car is a Frankenstein ,but again, verified with the factory. This was a one year only combination as there were not any more M90s after 81. It also was in the E12 5 series euro cars of the same year.My M90 block is also uinque in the fact that it does not have the raised water passage on the left side of the block
