I'm getting a list price of $220 for the sunroof cables from the Pacific BMW dealer in LA who is known for e9 parts and only $124 on Real OEM?..... Has anyone bought these recently?

Thanks

Doubtful, try Tomkinsonbmwparts.com, best prices there. Enter the part number in the search box.

a big +1. you can't search the part number on tomkinson ... but you can put the number from penskeparts.com or from realoem and get the best price. not convenient, but you do save money

Thanks guys. You can search the part number and they DO have great prices. The only worry I have is that you can't talk to anyone and that it's all online and I don't know whether they will actually know what to do with all those old BMW part numbers which there computer system says they carry. I also can't enter my VIN number in thir order confirmation box, since they say it must have 17 digits...

Thanks.

Does anyone know whether the upper firewall insulation (I think 51481811933?) is still available and whether is still looks basically the same as the old part did (I think they changed the new color to a Charcoal color foam).....

You can call Tomkinson, great guys. I often call to get an idea if parts are in US or coming from Germany to know how to plan my projects.

Thanks. For some reason the upper firewall insulation doesn't come up as a valid part number in their system although they have all the other parts I need. Is their parts availability fairly quick even for e9 parts?....

I have had great service from Tomkinson, even obscure parts. Don't worry about VINs, that is why you can't search diagrams on that site but Penske has all the diagrams so I go there first like Scott. Sometimes Penske shows a part and Tomkinson doesn't, don't know why though. And yes the insulation is now grey, no more yellow but it looks nicer. :)

I just ordered from them

All the rubber and trim bits for the bumpers. Unlike other dealers, they charged me for shipping for Germany! But their prices were low enough to offset those charges. They had no problems w the old part numbers. Good guys. Will use again. I've also had good service from maximilllian

Many of us have had Serious! problems with Max. And throw out the name 2002AD and watch the sharks circle. Be very careful.

I have had very good service from Tisher. I am asssuming their prices are in the ballpark.
Buying this stuff from BMW Canada would make your head spin. My E46 brakes were $600 from Tisher and $1250 from BMW Toronto.

See this post for pictures of the firewall insulation and their respective part numbers.

That's awesome Luis. I had no idea that the lower firewall insulation was back. It's been a long time!

Oddly, of all the part number I've entered, none of the the insulation parts show up in the Tomkinson.com parts search. Does anybody know whether they're available from them nevertheless? They haven't answered my email request. Thanks to all the other good posts as well....

Are the little plastic stepped washers for the hood grills 51131812021, really $4.56 each? 12 required?....

Chris. They have the washers that have a shoulder in them at Ace?!.... I just placed my first $950 order with Tomkinson including the previously obsolete lower firewall padding...
