Does anyone recognize the intakes as ones that might alleviate the need for either a modified thermo housing and/or Tii booster?

Yes, those are the manifolds that Steve used that avoid the problem with the thermo housing. Won't help on the brake servo though.

The thermo housing is not a huge deal if you know a good tig welder.
Simple cut and re-weld.

intakes

Would need a better picture of the intakes. They look the same as the ones I installed. And, yes the thermostat housing required modification.

Doubtful. Usually those like the ones pictured are 3 identical pieces and modification of the thermo housing is required along with dealing with the brake booster. Not a big deal, just will add $$$ to the project. The manifold I have is a vintage one piece VGS which moves #1 carb back a little and all 3 up to clear the booster.

These carbs appear to need more than a rebuild, the jet covers, progression hole cover screws, pump jet screws, etc all are pretty corroded so you'll need to replace these if you care about looks. Again, not a big deal, just will add $$$. Confirm with the seller they are matching, get the serial and model numbers on each top. Also get the jetting numbers (mains, emulsion tubes, air correctors, idle jets, and pump jets and bleeds), and definitely the choke size, and post here or PM me if you want feedback.

With rebuild kits, correct jetting if needed, and new parts mentioned above, plan on spending another $300, more if you need floats. Gdub0717 can chime in on the cost of the thermo housing and brake booster but I'd guess that's at least another $400. Linkage is expensive so if you need that add another couple hunj. I suggest installing an AFR gauge. You'll need an air filter setup as well. Don't use the soft mount gaskets, they leak and cause all kinds of problems, 6 cylinder engines don't need them so just use the "base gaskets" that Pierce sells. It all adds up.

I learned the hard way, I highly recommend buying professionally rebuilt carbs (Alfa1750 on ebay for example), that way you won't spend 6 months and lots of $$$ trying to get used ones to (unsuccessfully) work like I did. He sells DCOM's (last of the Italian Webers) which have both manifold and ported vacuum ports, a better accelerator pump, idle air bleed balancing screws, and better tuneability. I love mine, they look brand new. My $.02. The new Spanish Webers get mixed reviews from the Weber forum gods. This auction is for Italian DCOE's. 40's with 32mm chokes are a good size for unmodified engines-lots of torque.

I am happy to share any insight I have learned along the way to prospective buyers/installers to help save money and heartache. For me the pain was worth it but I don't wish the same journey on fellow coupers. Triples unleash the M30 engine in a big way and scream when you floor it.

The bottom line - the cost of the carbs is just the beginning...

Thanks for the feedback. I bought the complete set and have them for sale. I think if I had the rare intake they would be more desirable.
