Hi anyone able to help with where I can get or part number for a rear BMW badge to fit the spoiler on my car.

I am assuming it is different versus the standard due to being fitted to the flat surface of the spoiler.

I am looking for metal badge not a sticker.

thanks

Abzy

I put on a flat 60mm Badge myself, but on my spoiler with the rubber lip, the surface is not exactly flat, I had to make a custom base for the badge to sit on. I know others who went for a smaller size badge. I was told that getting the BMW badge off a BMW motorcycle may be an option.
All depends on what you like!

Gavin, where do you get that? There was a badge, small and flat, from realoem.com the part number is 51141836500 - i have never seen one for sale and it is listed as 'ENDED' but no idea if there is a substitute.

Rohan

Yes, 2002 from 66-67 or so through 73....Its 2 13/16" diameter, and yes, flat...two prongs that are normally held on with backside grommets...You can source from dealer; if realoem is correct, for about $23...If all is lost, I have a new one that I might let go...

how about this one?

I have tried various badge sizes for the rear spoiler.
The PO had a spare C-Pillar Enamel badge that he was going to use for the rear, I found it to be too small, but that can be one expansive option.
I then had a 60mm stick-on wheel cap badge to try for size which I liked.
But in the end I went with the current set up, with a 60mm M-Motorsport 'Target' Enamel badge which I always liked.

i do have a beautiful new BMW badge, i recall it being 50 mm in diameter, and completely flat

the frame is plastic and it has two small protuberances to be assembled with the appropriate plastic caps

if anyone needs it i can post some pics

BTW, gavin, it looks awesome !

Rear spoiler BMW emblem

The CSL rear spoiler emblem is specific to that part. The upper side of the badge is bent to follow the rubber edge surface. It was delivered in the screw and accessory kit with the spoiler when bought from BMW. Contact me if you need more info.

i have this emblem, i made some mistakes, it is not plastic but metal, it is 58mm in diameter and 6mm thick, with the black base plate (the latter can be removed, and then the emblem is only 3,5mm thick

i would look pretty nice on that spoiler 8)

DeQuincey pls PM with cost and postage to UK

thanks all

Hey Gavin, I thought I edited my post - yes you are right - the rubber duck tail spoiler had just the 3.0 csl sticker. The bat ducktail spoiler (no rubber edge) had a badge. Love the Inka colour!

Rohan

Hey Rohan,
I have edited my first comment too, cause now I am not so sure. I did not know there is an offical badge available for the spoiler until I read yours and Gerrit's post. I just remember seeing that in official CSL brochures, there are no rear badge (with the rubber lip spoiler at least).

Learning something new about our e9 all the time.
Cheers, Gavin

The badge doesn't really work well with the rubber lip. I removed mine and don't think I'd add the sticker even if I had one. It's kind of like Ferraris that come with the optional badges on the front fenders - I probably know what make of car I'm driving and I really don't care if you know or not.

Hey Gavin,

see this batmobile which is pretty original as it was owned by Tim Hignett and now BMW gb. http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=161&i=22796

also though I see the poster for the rubber lipped ducktail with no badge on what looks like an original BMW flyer - cant find a link now!

Every bat I have seen be it with the series one all GRp ducktail or a series 2 has had the boot badge.

Funny old cars!

Is your car a rhd csl?

Regards,

Rohan

OIC
yes, mine is a RHD CSL citypack but it did not have front or rear spoilers originally. The duck tail rubber spoiler was only added on about 8 years ago.
