Want tan interior door panels.

Am I crazy?

I'm thinking of changing my interior from blue to tan.
If I could find door panels I would have seats recovered.
I have Scheel front seats.
I plan to keep the dark blue color (Avus, not an E9 original but a e36 m3 color) when I repaint the car and think the tan and dark blue would be pretty spectacular?

Anybody?

Gary

Couldn't you dye your blue door panels? Leatherique has dye and can match to a swatch of the leather you use to recover your seats.

Tan looks great, you may still be crazy but not for this choice :).

I could see redying leather from blue to tan if you can remove the dye with the Leatherique prep but I don't see it working on vinyl. Still might be tough to go from blue to tan leather but perhaps contact an expert to see if it can be done with good results. I had my seat color matched by sending a swatch to Leatherique and they nailed it. I use it for touch ups around the seat belt area etc.

Dye...

SEM also has dye for this purpose for vinyl...I hear good things about their ability to match, but I haven't used theirs...but I have used World Upholstery's version of same on my 2002 armrests, going from tan to Cardinal red...from blue to tan, you may have to go three coats, rather than a couple. Easy to get a quality job, but my only issue from World was getting the rattle cans to match each other; have whomever guarantee same dye lot. Make sure that panels are citrus cleaner/scrub brush clean to ensure best adherence...Don't know if I'd try the blue to tan on the seats with any product..

Gary,

maybe we should talk ... i have tan panels and want to go to black to match my scheel seats with black scheel fabrick.
