This comes up too infrequently for me to be able to remember.
Here's the stampings on the back of the gauge :

1.74 Date code
20/134/1 VDO's part number

W=0.7125 ... stumped ratio ?????

can anyone help? Thanks in advance for any replies

Ratio number.

It indicates the ratio of the gears inside the speedo . Indication 0,7XXX differs whether you have 3.0 cs, 3.0 CSi or 2800.

I get that part, how do the codes relate to final drive ratio?
