Hi Folks,

I have a set of slotted alloys for sale. One is a perfect factory spare, two are in very good shape, and one has curb rash. I'm not opposed to splitting the set if it looks like they will sell. I'm not quite sure what these go for, so I will say $100 per wheel. I also have the chrome caps.

Edit: I'm keeping/installing these. If anyone wants to sell me one replacement slotted alloy, please sell it to me for the claimed $25/ea price tag. :D

Thanks!

Last time I checked (admittedly a long time ago) these were going for about $25 a piece.

it really depends on how good the wheels are, and more importantly how good the chrome is. i have seen really good examples sell for 200 to 250 for the set.

when is the last time a set went for sale? I searched this site and found no sets going for $100. I'm by no means sentimental about the wheels. However, if I break the set, I'm not going to sell each wheel for $25. That seems like a good price on a corresponding chrome hub cap.

$200 a set works for me.

yes ... and they will be sitting there on ebay for months. one of the seller has the right name "toomuchouzoagain". that's a really polite way of saying i'm really expensive

Markos, if this is what you have you may be selling yourself short. Two links off eBay for reference. This is what they are asking of course, what they are actually selling for, I have no idea?

That is indeed what I have. A good way to see how things are selling is to look for completed listings. This auction has ended on the 22nd and the 30th with no bids. $200 is fair. You are looking at $300 shipped. I think CoupeGuy probably has a million of these wheels, but I bet you can't get a set for $200.

I agree that those ebay sellers are nuts. And while I'm not trying to squeeze Markos (I already have a couple sets of spare wheels & hubcaps squirreled away), $100/ea does seem high for a wheel-hubcap pair, though $25/ea seems low.

Markos: You're putting yourself at a disadvantage by not posting photos. The above quote may be very clear to you, but for someone considering paying a stranger $400 for used car parts, a photo would provide some reassurance.

Well I guess I am the all time sucka because I paid $500 for a nice set (just to have the stock option) They did come with some very nice olden day tires. I think if they are nice $200 is a great deal and $300 fair. Probably worth $25 each in aluminum alone. Surprised nice stock wheels are worth so little. There must be a lot of them in California.

Funny you mention the aluminum. I've melted down aluminum wheels that didn't sell in the past. I didn't want to spook the horses. This site is a polarized group of individuals from a parts/cars valuation perspective. I agree on OEM wheel costs. It's amazing how much people spend up front on crap aftermarket wheels. BMW had an amazing OEM wheel lineup, up through the E39. Then they all blended into the same five spoke ugliness.

I'll snap some pictures. I figured I was already making my name as the guy who likes to post 1024x768 embedded images of everything. I just haven't gotten that far. I thought for a moment that these wheels had Michelin XWX tires on them. It turns out they are mishmash of tires with a similar tread pattern. One tire is from JC Penny. Not my wheel/tire below, but I kid you not.

P.S. I love (really) how every FS post on this site turns into an interesting discussion. Small town feel... :)

Updated - I'm keeping/installing these. If anyone wants to sell me one replacement slotted alloy, please sell it to me for the claimed $25/ea price tag. :D

i guess you didn't get the memo ... that $200 to $300 whether you are buying 1 or 4.

If you want mine I can sell them at 1000 dollars each.
There you have it, I have set a new pricing for these wheels.
