I lost one tonight doing some touchup - poof - it disappeared. Annoys the **** out of me. It's the phillips head machine screw that holds the cover over the blower motor on the firewall. One of 3. Center one that goes into the welded on nut but I think all 3 are the same. I will gladly pay or reimburse with something you may need. Thanks.

So Steve,

did you drop it in the engine compartment ... or somewhere else. have you tried feeling around with a magnet

according to Penske all 3 are the same, but doesn't give a size ... the orange book says its a 5 x 8 ...

I looked everywhere, it's probably in the black hole area of my engine where all kinds of nuts, washers, etc. end up - somewhere underneath the starter and between the engine block. But I remember putting it down in the well below the windshield. Who knows.

i feel your pain ... i dropped a little bushing and screw while replacing a hood grille. looked everywhere ... with a light and a magnet. 3 weeks later i found it while doing something else under the car.

Didn't David Vrane make a rotisserie you can use to put the car upside down? Very useful for getting all these lost screws out of the car.

Yeah and I'd love to get back the weber mixture screw spring that flew down there last week!

What's your pleasure, gold or silver?
