Is there a good way to clean up the aluminum fascia on the shifter console? I was thinking about steel wool and WD40?

Has anyone found a good way to do this?

as it is anodized, yes you can use Steel wool, but a 0000 grade one
as to the product wd40 will work, but "autosol" or a similar cleaning paste is better
