Newbie with the DUMBEST question EVER!!!!

Guys,

I just bought a 1972 CSi and will be outing myself as soon as the car arrives. In the meantime I am trying to get up to speed with various questions on this very useful forum.

However, every thread I read starts with the most recent post and goes backwards. This is driving me CRAZY!!! I would like to look at a thread, see the first post, followed by all of the replies from oldest to most recent.

I am sure this is a simple user setting, but I have looked everywhere and can't find it. Can somebody please tell me how to get the damned posts to flow flow oldest to most recent????

That either runs threaded or hybrid threaded. Here's an admin setting for the forum software that will make the threads work the right way.

It drove me nuts for a month, and then I've just gotten used to it.

Dunno, I have 3 options linear, threaded and hybrid modes under the display drop down.
Linear puts newest first, hybrid puts oldest first. Threaded is a different story. Could just be crappie Apple ipad thingie.

That's my story and I am stickin to it.
 
Me too, from post 1.

Go to "User CP" in upper left area of menu.

Then select "Edit Options" from left column menu

Scroll down to "Thread display options"

In the dropdown box choose "Linear-Oldest First"

Then scroll you bottom of page and "save changes"


Once you are up to speed on things and spend too much time here like I do, you'll find the oldest first to be helpful. Now show us your car :)

Oh Stevehose, I could just kiss you. That fixed it. A year and a half of using this forum backwards has been fixed.

Ok, you are right, I was less right. :oops:I figured it out now. Use the user control panel. I have mine set to newest first and toggling hybrid/linear sends me to oldest, or something:confused:Anyways, Thanks x2

You really read every post?! I will try that...it may take a while to get back to you on that though.
