I removed the old distributor and Pertronix ignition from my coupe and replaced with 1-2-3 Ingnition.

The Ignitor by Pertronix replaces your points and condenser with a solid-state electronic ignition system. The unit fits entirely under your stock distributor cap. What style points and what type of distributor do you have? Not sure? Check out our distributor decipher page found on the “Information and Downloads” link above.
 
Two questions
1) How does the new set-up compare to Petronix since I have Petronix on my E3.
2) What happened with the steering wheel project....share share.....
 
Pertronix: I think the pertronix is great for a stock engine set up. When there are changes involving pistons, cam etc, the 1-2-3 really shines.

I have stalled in my steering wheel project. The wood is all smooth and I need to stain it before spraying with that epoxy product. The spokes have hairline cracks. I tried super glue thinking it might wick in with capillary action then I could sand off the high spots but that didn't work. So I need to sand off the paint and try something else.

Stan,

if you are going to paint it, why not try bondo on it? then you can sand it and paint it.

Did you sell the Pertronix ignition if not I am interested in it I live in Maryland let me know and I can pay by paypal, thanks Clarence PS I have a 71 Bavaria with a 3.3 dual weber 32/36 carbs
