Hi,
I'm installing an M90 on a '74 CS and trying to figure out the routing for the Engine harness.
I have the original complete harness from a '79 635csi
- Does anybody have any recommendation for the wiring routing from engine bay to the cabin?
Pictures from an original installation of a CSI would be helpful.
- Any recommendation for the ECU installation?
If I'm not mistaken the original installaiton of the ECU on a csi are under the rear seat.
On the 635 the ECU is installed above the glove box. Anybody did a similar install?
- I have a generic wiring diagram for a CS but I see some deviations compared to my '74 car. Does anybody have a wiring diagram for this year?

Thanks in advance for y'alls help,
Stephane.

You need a 2 1/8" hole here and mount the ECU above the glove box, closer to side panel is best but you are limited by length of harness. I need to trim back of my glovebox.

hole in firewall and ecu mount

Here's a couple of pix showing the hole thru fire wall (not mine) and the way I located the ecu... crude but effective.

DCG, my eye was drawn to the valve cover gasket with the silicone/RTV bead. Never seen that before; where did you source it? Thanks, Luis

gasket

That is not MY car... Pic was sent to me referencing the hole thru the firewall... I might have gotten that pix from Don L.

For the finishing touch on the hole- use a 325i engine grommet.
